It would appear that these points reward programs for both Virgin and EZRock have turned into nothing more than scams. The slots no longer pay out anything other than the occasional OLG Night Out 'entry' for a draw, and they are now charging 39,000 points for a pass to an event which may not even gain admittance to the event being sponsored.

i.e. "Please note that the theatre is overbooked to ensure capacity. Arrive early as seating is on a first come, first seated basis. Pass does not guarantee admission."

Really???

These point systems are rip offs, the stations are getting cheaper with the prizing, you have to spend so-o-o many points just for a CD, worth $20. - $25. max.
I am beginning to wonder if being obsessed with collecting points is worth the time and effort.
If it were'nt for this site, it sure wouldn't be - you have to adjust your life around times codes are played etc.
Slowly going CRAZY.

I think the main reason for the problem is that there are so many blogs like this one. Radio stations know very well what is going on. They know that few members if any actually listen to a station enough to get every code every day, but yet they now have thousands of members with points accumulated in the hundreds of thousands, if not in the millions.

It seems to me that we may simply be getting beaten by our own game, and it would not at all surprise me if suddenly one day very soon we find that the entire program gets shut down, and that our points will be worthless....not that they are worth that much any more as it is.

Why do you bother to blog just to mimick the people here? You seem to have some real issues with these sites. With so many people listening to radio station(s)there is no way they could possibly know who checks this site and who checks their recently played list, I guess that's cheating too in your eyes. So maybe they should return to call-ins where people actually have to listen.

That is being implemented real soon. Lecpoints has already announced the end of its points programs in early 2009.

If the point system goes away, so be it. Everything to a radio station is just to try and capture a certain market. If you do not like a certain station, then just STOP listening to it. If you do not like Blogs like this, then just shut up and leave.

Where did you get this information anyway?

Hoping that Helping 1000 will make this site non-anonymous real soon to keep "Happy" off it.

Dear Erky Perky,

I'm with you on this one and your comments made were PERFECT to the jerk that keeps trying to ruin everything on our blog. This is getting ridiculous and if they took the points away and only made it a call in show, then that would suck big time, even though this way isn't much better as it's hard enough to get enough entries to win a prize as the expiry dates are very soon after they're posted!! Either way, like you said, if they don't like our site, why don't they go cause HAVOC
somewhere else!!

ROCK ON!!
